According to national media reports, an attack was carried out in Iye village of Benue province by gunmen, whose identity has not yet been determined.
In the attack, 18 people lost their lives and many were injured.
Benue Police Spokesperson Catherine Anene stated that security forces were dispatched to the region and an investigation was launched.
Nearly 150 people died and more than 18,000 were displaced last month due to violence between the two groups in the state of Benue.
