With the support of the Colombian Navy, Air Force, Panamanian Air Force and the United States, they launched an operation against drug smugglers 120 miles from Morrosquillo Bay.
In the operation, 5.5 tons of cocaine was confiscated, and 5 people, four from Colombia and one from Panama, were detained.
Noticing the security forces, drug members spilled some cocaine into the sea.
The market value of the seized cocaine was reported to be around $184 million.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro congratulated the security forces on his Twitter account, “One of the historical blows was dealt to drug smugglers. The Colombian Navy seized 5.5 tons of cocaine and $18 million in cash.” used the phrase.
Information was shared that the drug would first be transported to Panama and then to the USA.
