Musa Danmadami, Director of Media Operations at the Nigerian Ministry of Defense, stated that the army carried out operations against armed gang members in the Zurmi region of Zamfara state.
Danmadami noted that 7 gang members were neutralized and 2 gang members were captured during the operations.
Stating that the shelters of the armed gang were destroyed in the operations, Danmadami shared the information that 7 motorcycles, 2 guns and important ammunition belonging to the gang members were seized.
Zamfara province has been facing attacks by armed gang members for 5 years.
The government had declared that armed gang members caught due to increasing security problems would be put on trial.
