According to the daily report published by Mexico’s National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED) on the activities of Popocatepetl Volcano, 7 new eruptions and 235 gas and ash outputs were recorded in the last 24 hours.
In the report, it was informed that the ash from the mouth of the volcano spread towards the northeast with the effect of the wind, while significant ash precipitation was observed in some settlements in the region.

The Civil Protection Coordination of Puebla State, located just east of Popocatepetl, stated that the ash from the volcano is harmful to health and advised citizens to take precautions.
The number of explosions recorded this year rose to 242
The number of eruptions recorded in 2023 has increased to 242 with the 7 new eruptions that took place yesterday and 6 new eruptions today in Popocatepetl Volcano, where eruptions occur every day.
During 2022, 113 eruptions were recorded in the volcano. Popocatepetl Volcano, which has seen an increase in activity for over a year, ranks fifth among volcanoes that are expected to have a major eruption in the next few years, according to scientists from the University of Manchester.
