In a written statement made by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Belgium, it was reported that several searches were made in the cities of Roeselare, Menen, Ostend, Wevelgem and Ghent in the Flemish region and a total of 7 people were detained.
In the statement, it was stated that 4 of the people who were related to a group affiliated with the terrorist organization DAESH were Chechens and 3 were Belgians.
In the statement, it was also noted that the accusations were participation in a terrorist organization and planning a terrorist attack.
The Belgian Threat Analysis Coordination Agency (OCAM) reported that the terrorist risk was at a moderate level after the aforementioned development.
