At least seven people are missing as water from the collapsed Nova Kakhovka dam flooded the surrounding areas, Russia’s TASS news agency reported.
The water level of the Dnieper River rose rapidly because the Kahovka Dam, which was controlled by the Russians in Ukraine’s Kherson region, was heavily damaged by bombing.
While the center of the city of New Kahovka in the region was flooded, it was seen in the images from the region that the water level had risen to the second floor of the buildings.
Russian authorities had decided to evacuate the city with a population of approximately 44 thousand before the war and the flood-affected Golopristanskiy and Aleshi regions.
