The awards, named “Heart of Sarajevo”, were given to their owners at the ceremony held at the National Theater in the capital Sarajevo, after the red carpet.
49 films competed in the categories of feature films, short films, documentary films and student films at the SFF, which started on 11 August.
Elene Naveriani’s “Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry” won the “Best Feature Film” award. Philip Sotnychenko won the best director award for his movie “La Palisiada”.
Jovan Ginic won the “Best Actor” award for her role in “Lost Country”, while the “Best Actress” award went to Ekaterine Chavleishvili for her role in “Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry”.
The “Best Documentary” award was given to director Nemanja Vojinovic’s “Bottlemen” and the “Best Short Documentary” award was given to director Sara Jurincic’s documentary “Valerija”.
Director Kumjana Novakova received the “Human Rights Award” for “Silence of Reason”, and director Gergo Somogyvari received the “Special Jury Award” for the film “Fairy Garden”.
Flora Anna Buda won the “Best Short Film” award for her movie “27”, while director Anna Gyimesi won the “Best Student Film” award for her movie “Falling”.
The program ended after the participants of the award ceremony took a group photo on stage.
SFF hosted famous names from the world of cinema and media
SFF, which has been organized for more than a quarter of a century with the aim of eradicating the traces of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992-1995 and making the capital Sarajevo a center of culture and art, hosted many world-famous names.
SFF has been attended by important names from the world of cinema, from Robert de Niro to Angelina Jolie, from Brad Pitt to Orlando Bloom, from Daniel Craig to John Malkovich, from Morgan Freeman to Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
Many Turkish productions received awards in the previous years at the festival.
