Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov met with Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlic Radman in the capital Zagreb as part of his official visit to Croatia.
Ministers made statements to the press after the meeting.
Expressing their commitment to Ukraine’s territorial integrity and independence, Radman said, “I pointed out that the European Union (EU) is making the highest level of efforts to contribute to the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It has always had a strong peaceful way to resolve open problems between the two countries. We kind of supported it.” said.
Thanking Croatia for its contribution to improving the situation with Armenia, Bayramov said, “Unfortunately, my main message is that Armenia still has not shown goodwill and has not taken a constructive stance. Instead, the Armenian side is playing a game of delay and confusion.” made its assessment.
Stating that the Armenian side frequently carries out armed provocations in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, Bayramov said that the rights and freedoms of citizens of Armenian origin living in the territory of Azerbaijan are guaranteed by the Azerbaijani constitution and international mechanisms.
Bayramov noted that the implementation of these steps on the basis of respect for international law will ensure peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
