Secret Service officers responsible for the security of the presidential building panicked when a baby, who was seen as 2-3 years old, broke into the metal fence that surrounded the White House this morning.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said officers encountered a “curious child visitor” who had recently entered the White House grounds along the northern fence line.
Fences were raised to 4 meters
After the White House security systems activated, security guards took the baby and access to the land was briefly restricted. The officers handed the boy over after a short while, asking a few questions to his family.
After a series of security breaches in recent years, the height of the White House fence has been doubled, raising it to nearly 4 meters. There is a gap of about 13 centimeters between the new posts.
