Ballots in France and Switzerland were sent to Turkey

Müslüm Aygün, Consul General of Turkey in Lyon, stated that the ballots containing the votes in 9 cities in France and 2 cities in Switzerland were brought to Lyon Saint-Exupery Airport in France by buses and vehicles.

Consul General Aygün stated that the ballot papers were sent to Turkey by plane belonging to Turkish Airlines (THY).

Aygün noted that during the loading of the ballots to the plane, representatives of 4 parties and the Supreme Election Board (YSK), as well as a diplomatic courier were present.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Bern Emine Ece Özbayoğlu Acarsoy and Turkey’s Geneva Consul General İpek Zeytinoğlu Özkan were among those who came to deliver the ballot papers to the plane in Lyon.

Within the scope of the General Elections for the President and 28th Term Member of Parliament to be held on 14 May in Turkey, Turkish voters cast their votes in the ballot boxes set up on 29 April-7 May in the election centers in Bern and Geneva, Switzerland.

Voting in France took place between April 27 and May 9 in Paris, Strasbourg, Nant, Lyon, Bordeaux and Marseille, and between April 29 and May 1 in Mulhouse, Ingre, Clermont-Ferrand.
