According to the news in the Brazilian press, the court took action after Telegram targeted Brazil, which wanted to introduce a bill to prevent disinformation on the internet.
As part of the decision taken by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, Telegram’s activities were suspended for 72 hours in the first place.
Telegram sent a message to its users yesterday, regarding the disinformation bill, “Attack on democracy in Brazil.” had used the phrase.
Claiming that Brazil could destroy the modern internet with this bill, Telegram argued that it would harm the services of social networking site companies.
Telegram has been temporarily removed
On April 27, a federal court in Brazil ordered a temporary ban on Telegram after the messaging service refused to share information about the administrators of neo-Nazi groups with the police.
Google, Apple and four Brazilian Telecom companies were ordered to remove Telegram from their app stores and other platforms.
The ban was lifted on May 1 by the federal appeals court.
