British minister’s YouTube account hacked: His password was as easy as ‘1234’

Britain’s new Defense Secretary, Grant Shapps, claimed that his YouTube account had been hacked because the password was “1234” or something equally easy to guess.

It was revealed that Grant Shapps announced the hacking that took place before the 2007 midterm elections.

Shapps, then Shadow Minister for Housing and Planning, claimed that he did not make the comment under the Liberal Democrats’ campaign video.

The comment contained the following statements:

“Okay, to be realistic we still won’t win. Especially since the Conservatives took the 5 legislators who had fled the Labor Party. I don’t know exactly how they did it, but the Conservatives attacked us this time.”

Users claimed that Shapps tried to make a fake comment to look like it was from a Liberal Democrat, but forgot which account he was logged into.
