According to the statement of the Central Election Board of Turkmenistan, the Independent State Community (CIS) observer delegation went to the capital Ashgabat, upon the invitation of the Turkmen side, to watch the parliamentary elections to be held on March 26.
During the meeting between Turkmenistan Central Election and Referendum Board Chairman Gulmurat Muradov and the head of the observer delegation and CIS Deputy Secretary General Ilham Nematov, the issues related to the upcoming parliamentary elections were discussed, the guest delegation was informed about the course of the process and the necessary conditions for observing the elections.
Nematov gave information about the working principles and organization of the CIS observer delegation. Nematov stated that the work of the delegation will be organized in accordance with the legislation of Turkmenistan and will be based on generally accepted principles and norms of international law.
