In a written statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, it was underlined that the burning of the Quran in Denmark was a provocation and meant to provoke the feelings of over 2 billion Muslims, especially in Ramadan.
In the statement, which noted that Qatar strongly condemned the heinous act in question, it called on the Danish government to take action against those who committed religious hate crimes.
The statement warned that “allowing the repetition of violations against the Qur’an under the pretext of freedom of expression fuels hatred and violence, and threatens the values of peaceful coexistence.”
