The aid campaign, organized by the joint initiative of 23 non-governmental organizations in Austria, was broadcast live on various channels, especially on social media.
Citizens who participated in the broadcast from some parts of Germany, especially Austria, made donations.
While Turkey’s Ambassador to Vienna Ozan Ceyhun and Vienna Consul General Cafer Mert Özmert were present at the program, the President of the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) Mahmut Asmalı and the President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Abdullah Eren attended by telephone.
The goal is to establish an “Austrian quarter”
Non-governmental organizations in Austria aim to establish an “Austrian neighborhood” consisting of 100 containers in Elbistan with the financial aid collected in the campaign.
Ambassador Ozan Ceyhun, in his speech here, pointed out the importance of containers for the citizens in the region and thanked everyone who supported them.
Ceyhun stated that this campaign was carried out in consultation with AFAD and was under the support and supervision of the Embassy.
Noting that each aid given is very valuable, Ceyhun stated that the aid will be delivered to the citizens who urgently need the containers in question.

YTB President Abdullah Eren, who participated in the program by phone connection, said that since the day the earthquakes took place, the Turks in Europe have been mobilizing for their homeland and have provided both material and in-kind assistance.
Expressing his thanks to everyone who contributed to the container campaign, Eren emphasized the importance of the support to be provided for the permanent residences that will be built in the near future.
