According to national media reports, the Nice Administrative Court has evaluated the French Human Rights Association’s (LDH) objection to the Mandelieu-La-Napoule Municipality banning the veiled swimsuit on beaches.
The court rejected LDH’s application to lift the ban on the grounds that the municipality’s decision was aimed at preventing disruption of public order and decided to continue the ban.
The first city to ban the hijab swimsuit
The Municipality of Mondelieu-La-Napoule became the first municipality to ban the veiled swimsuit on beaches in 2012.
LDH applied to the Nice Administrative Court in June for the cancellation of the veiled swimsuit ban in this city.
