This time, Tibet’s spiritual leader came to the fore with a scandal.
The Dalai Lama attended the graduation ceremony held at a charitable foundation’s school in Daramshala, India, where he lived in exile.
During the ceremony at the temple, one of the children asked the Dalai Lama, “Can I hug you?” was heard calling.
Thereupon, the 87-year-old leader called the boy to him. The spiritual leader asked the boy to kiss his tongue and caused a scandal.
When the images broke records on the internet, a statement was published from the Dalai Lama’s social media account.
In the statement, it was emphasized that the spiritual leader made innocent jokes with people in front of the public and the cameras, and it was reported that he apologized to the child and his family.
In 2019, the Nobel Prize-winning spiritual leader apologized to women and refugees for his statements.
