The death toll in the collapse of a coal mine in Alxa League in northern China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region is rising.
According to the news of the Chinese agency Xinhua, there is no news of more than 50 miners working in the collapsed part of the quarry in Alaşa Cegün Sanjak. A search and rescue team of 300 people continues to work in the region with 129 vehicles.
Search and rescue teams have so far found the dead bodies of two miners, while one miner has survived the dent.
Authorities are worried that the death toll will rise.
The vast Inner Mongolia is known as one of the richest regions in China in terms of mineral resources.
In a statement after the incident, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that rescue efforts for the missing and treatment for the injured continue under the best possible conditions.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has ordered a prompt investigation of the cause of the collapse.
