The UK Meteorological Office (Met Office) issued a yellow alert across the country due to freezing temperatures.
The UK Health Safety Authority (UKHSA), which made a statement due to the alarm that will last until the beginning of the week, urged the public to show solidarity with their relatives, neighbors and those who may be affected by the cold.
Flights are disrupted
While many schools in the south and southwest of the country were closed due to cold and snow, some canceled flights and landings at Bristol Airport, the country’s eighth busiest airport, were diverted to Birmingham Airport.
At Birmingham Airport, on the other hand, there are delays in landing and taking off due to snow accumulation on the runways.
The Met Office warned that snowfall and rains will continue until the end of the week, and it was stated that the rains will cause delays in public transportation.
National Rail, which provides railway transportation services in the country, announced that there may be disruptions in flights due to precipitation and snow, and that trains can move at low speeds.
