The European Space Agency sent the Euclid Space Telescope into space.
Euclid was launched from Florida, USA.
The telescope, which was sent into space with the Falcon 9 rocket belonging to SpaceX company, is expected to contribute to research on ‘dark energy’ and ‘dark matter’.
EUCLID will be positioned next to the James Webb telescope, which is 1 million 500 thousand kilometers away from the earth, after a space journey that will take approximately 1 month.
It is planned to draw the ‘largest map of the universe’ covering two billion galaxies from its location.
EUCLID, which is 4 meters 70 centimeters long and about 3 and a half meters wide, is expected to send its first data to the world in October.
