According to the information obtained from the Philippines Coast Guard Force, a fire broke out on the ferry named The Lady Mary Joy 3, which was going from Mindanao Island to Jolo Island, last night for an unknown reason.
It was reported that 230 of the passengers on board were rescued while the Coast Guard Forces and fishermen in the region intervened in the ferry, which surrendered to the flames, off Baluk-Baluk Island.
While the ship, which turned into ashes after the fire, was pulled ashore with severe damage, the lifeless bodies of 10 people, including 3 children, were found on the ship.
A detailed investigation into the incident has been initiated.
