Hospitals in Germany are on the verge of closing.
To solve the crisis in the health system, the German government prepared a rescue package.
With the said reform, it is aimed to reorganize the financing and structure of hospitals. However, the package did not receive general acceptance.
This time, the country’s Minister of Health, Karl Lauterbach, expressed the bitter truth in the German health system.
“If the planned reform is not done, 25 percent of hospitals in Germany could close,” he warned.
The situation of hospitals in Germany, where the coronavirus epidemic process was under great pressure, worsened with the energy crisis that emerged after the Russia-Ukraine war.
Due to the lack of personnel, the operating days were delayed too far and the appointments were spread on a long calendar, which further increased the problems.
On top of all these problems, a financial crisis was added.
60 percent of the 1,900 hospitals in the country face major financial problems.
