While the war continues between the two armies in the Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia and Luhansk regions across Ukraine, the most intense conflicts of recent times are experienced in the Donetsk region.
Heavy clashes continue day and night in the region in question, especially in cities such as Bahmut, Avdeevka, Marinka and Ugledar.
As in other hotspots in the region, both armies mostly use artillery systems, tanks, mortars and other weapons in the conflicts around Bahmut.
Explosion sounds are often heard on the front, where warplanes and helicopters are also used.
Anadolu Agency team entered the Bahmut front with the help of members of the Ukrainian army and viewed the latest developments there.
Artillery fire continues intensely on the front line around the city of Bahmut, which has been declared a “red area” for security.
This route is also targeted by the Russian forces, as the only way to the city of Bahmut, which has been besieged by the Russian army from three sides, passes through the city of Chasov Yar.
In Chasov Yar, which was heavily damaged by Russian attacks and explosions are heard at any moment, life in the streets came to a standstill due to the constant threat of attack.
On the road passing through the front line in the direction of Chasov Yar and Bahmut of the Bahmut district, the armored vehicles of the Ukrainian army are also moving quickly.
“There are always hot conflicts here”
The commander of the artillery battery, which was stationed at one point on the Bahmut front and fired heavily towards the places where the Russian soldiers were located, told the AA correspondent about the situation at the front.
President of the team, who used the single-barreled “C-60” gun, which was produced as an anti-aircraft artillery complex, as an artillery system on the Bahmut front, said that the said weapon was quite effective.
President stated that the artillery system can be mounted on a 6-wheel drive truck branded “Ural” and can shoot at targets approximately 6-7 kilometers away.
Stating that the ammunition required for the weapon they use is produced in Ukraine’s allied countries, President stated that they do not have a bullet problem because of this.
Noting that they are on duty for 24 hours as a team, President said, “We are fighting in the direction of Bahmut. There are always hot clashes here.” said.
“We hold the front line”
Noting that the attacks of the Russian army towards Bahmut and the surrounding settlements have intensified, especially during the winter months, President emphasized that they have stopped the advance of the enemy in recent days.
President said, “We have determined our positions and are holding the front line, now the situation is much better. The enemy can no longer penetrate anywhere on the right and left sides of the city of Bahmut.” used the phrase.
Reminding that the war started on February 24, 2022, 27-year-old President said that he got married on February 19.
“During the entire war, I was able to see my wife twice, once in the summer and once in the winter. It is very difficult both physically and mentally. Since we have the Internet, we can at least somehow communicate on the phone, but it is very difficult.” he said.
