Part of Cattelan’s “WE” exhibition, the artwork “Comedian” consisted of a ripe banana affixed with duct tape to a wall at the Leeum Art Museum in Seoul.
After student Noh Huyn-soo ate the banana, he taped the peel to the wall.
According to local media reports, the museum later planted a new banana in the same spot.
The event, which lasted more than a minute, was recorded by Noh’s friend.
It was announced that the banana on display was changed every two or three days.
In videos posted online, “excuse me” sounds are heard as Noh takes the banana off the wall. When the room gets quiet, he doesn’t respond and starts to eat.
He then tapes the shell to the wall and poses before walking.
