In China, the voting process for the May 14 elections in Turkey has ended

Turkish voters in China cast their votes at the ballot boxes set up at the Beijing Embassy and the Consulate Generals in Shanghai, Guangcou and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on May 5-7.

After the completion of the voting process at 21:00 local time today, the polls were closed. The ballot papers were sealed and put in sacks under the supervision of the ballot box committee and observers.

The ballot papers will be delivered to the Supreme Election Board (YSK) by being transported to Turkey by air, via diplomatic courier.

If the Presidential election goes to the second round, voting will take place at the representative offices in China on May 21-22.

According to the overseas electoral roll records of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), there are 4,337 registered voters in China.

The YSK formed ballot box committees in 156 foreign representations in 73 countries for 3 million 416 thousand 98 voters registered in the foreign electoral roll in the 14 May elections.

Voting in representative offices abroad will end on May 9. Voters registered in the foreign election register, who could not vote until this date, will be able to vote at 46 customs gates until 17.00 on Sunday, 14 May 2023.
