In a written statement from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that the sanction decision was taken as a precautionary measure against EU and UK sanctions in line with the approvals of the relevant authorities.
It was stated that the sanctions cover individuals and organizations in the EU and the UK who “incite and incite unrest, violence and acts of terrorism against the Iranian people, interfere in Iran’s internal affairs, and spread false and false information about Iran”.
In this context, it was reported that sanctions were imposed on 17 people, including members of the European Parliament from the UK and the EU, and high-level military and civilian officials, as well as 1 organization from the EU and 3 organizations from the UK.
The said sanctions included a visa ban, confiscation of property and financial assets in Iran, and freezing of bank accounts, the statement said.
The United Kingdom, the United States and the EU have taken new sanctions against Iranian senior officials, including members of the Revolutionary Guards, for allegedly being responsible for human rights violations in Iran.
