Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani spoke at the joint press conference with President Erdogan after the meeting held at the Presidential Complex.
Mentioning that there are active companies operating in Iraq at the moment, Sudani said that he participated in the opening of a hospital in Basra, that it is not just a hospital and can be called a city hospital.
Sudani stated that this hospital was built by a Turkish company, and that another hospital will be completed and opened in this way in the near future.
Sudani said, “We desire to realize serious projects with all our (Turkish) brothers, businessmen and investors. I will meet with many businessmen and investors here tomorrow. I will express these issues very clearly there,” he said.
“On behalf of the Iraqi government and people, we are grateful for your instructions for resolving the water problem.”
Regarding Turkey’s decision to increase the amount of water in Iraq for a month, Sudani said, “We (President Erdogan) thank you for your instructions on the solution of the water problem on behalf of the Iraqi government and people.”
Underlining that there is a serious water shortage in the region, Sudani said that there is a problem with water supply to the central and southern regions of Iraq.
Sudani stated that he believes that the Water Resources Center in Baghdad will meet with Turkish officials and discuss the issue technically and scientifically and find a solution through joint work.
