According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s statement, Prime Minister Kishida Fumio will meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Ukraine.
Before the G7 Leaders’ Summit, which he will host in Hiroshima in May, Kishida will emphasize his country’s resolute support for Ukraine. Prime Minister Kishida will also visit Poland tomorrow.
The Japanese Prime Minister was the only G7 country leader who had not visited Ukraine since February 2022, when the Russia-Ukraine crisis began.
In a statement on invitations from Ukraine, Kishida said that the appropriate time was waiting.
