One of the eyewitnesses, Kemal Avavede, said in a statement that Jewish settlers attacked Palestinians and their properties every other day.
Noting that today, around 30 Jewish settlers gathered in the Deir Dibwan town to the east of Ramallah under the protection of Israeli forces, they started to open fire on the Palestinians, Avavede stated that there were injured people.
Avavede said that a night watch committee was formed to protect the Jewish settlers who set up illegal settlements about a month ago from attacks on Palestinians and their animals.
In the statement made by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, it was informed that 3 people were injured in the attack carried out by the Jewish settlers in the town of Deir Dibwan with the Israeli forces.
It was announced that 2 of the injured were injured by bullets and the other had fractures in his body.
According to the report of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), since the beginning of 2023, Jewish settlers have carried out more than 300 attacks in the West Bank. As a result of these attacks, property damage occurred to residents as well as injured Palestinians.
Illegal Jewish settlements and the Separation Wall
There are more than 250 illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank, which Israel occupied in 1967. More than 600,000 Jewish settlers residing in these places make life even more difficult for Palestinians living under occupation in the West Bank.
Under international law, all Jewish settlements in the occupied territories are considered illegal.
Following the Aqsa Intifada (2nd Intifada) that broke out in Palestine in 2000, the Tel Aviv administration started the construction of a “Separation Wall” between the West Bank and Israel on the grounds of “security” in 2002.
Due to the Separation Wall, nearly 3 million Palestinians in the West Bank cannot cross into occupied East Jerusalem and Israel.
