Jordan: Israel-Lebanon tension is the result of Israel’s unjustified attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safedi said, “Israel is undermining the peace agreement with Jordan and other Arab countries with its recent attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque.” said.

Emphasizing that Tel Aviv made it impossible to enter into regional cooperation after the Israeli police attacked the Masjid al-Aqsa for the second time yesterday, Safedi said, “The tension occurring on the Israel-Lebanon border today is the result of Israel’s unjustified attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque. We’re in a dangerous situation that we’ve been trying to avoid for months.” he said.

The Israeli army announced that 34 rockets were fired from Lebanese territory to the Western Galilee region in the north of Israel, 25 of which were destroyed by Israeli air defense systems, and at least 5 rockets fell on Israeli territory.

The Israeli army, which held the Lebanese government and Hamas responsible for the rockets fired in the northern regions of the country, hit the south of Lebanon with artillery.

What happened in Masjid al-Aqsa?

The violent intervention of the Israeli forces against the worshipers in Masjid al-Aqsa once again increased the tension in occupied East Jerusalem and the region.

The Palestinians took refuge in the Qibla Masjid in Aqsa after the tarawih prayer, following the calls of the fanatic settlers to raid Masjid al-Aqsa due to the Jewish holy “Pesah Festival” and sacrifice there.

During the raid on Aqsa at sahur, the Israeli police intervened in the Qibla Masjid by using tear gas, rubber-coated bullets and batons, turning the holy temple into a war zone.

More than 400 Palestinians who took shelter in the Qibla Masjid were detained.
