Jury in New York trial finds Trump ‘responsible’ for sexual abuse

After a week of hearings in Manhattan Federal Court, the 9-member jury of 3 women came to a conclusion in Carroll’s favor today.

After nearly 2.5 hours of deliberation, the jury found Trump responsible for “sexual abuse”, “battery” and “insult” in Carroll’s civil lawsuit.

In the decision, the allegation that Trump raped Carroll was denied.

The jury said that Trump should pay Carroll $2 million for sexual harassment and assault and $3 million for defamation, totaling $5 million in damages.

“I have no idea who this woman is”

Minutes after the announcement of the decision, Trump shared on his social media account, “I have no idea who this woman is. This decision is embarrassing, it is the continuation of the greatest witch hunt of all time.”

Magazine writer E. Jean Carroll publicly announced in 2019 that Trump sexually assaulted and raped her in the dressing room of the Bergdorf Goodman store in New York in the spring of 1996.

Trump, on the other hand, denied the allegations, saying, “That woman is not my type.”
