According to the news of Asian News International (ANI), the floods and landslides caused by the monsoon rains that have been effective in the country since last week caused destruction and loss of life in 4 regions in the east of the country.
Police shared the information that the death toll increased to 5 and 28 people are still missing in the disaster that affected the regions of Sankhuwasabha, Taplejung, Panchthar and Dhankuta.
Nepal’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala stated that some roads and bridges collapsed in areas affected by floods and landslides, and search and rescue efforts continue.
Rains are expected to spread across the country in the coming weeks.
