A macaque monkey kidnapped a kitten in the Shizhi district of Taiwan’s capital, Taipei.
According to the statement made by the Taipei Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office, work has been started with the local government to identify the spots where the monkey has been seen.
The office was requested to be notified if the cat was found.
Taiwanese animal lovers also mobilized to find the kitten. Animal lovers expressed that the kitten is both hungry and in need of care, and they are worried that the monkey will kill the cat.
Also known as the ‘Taiwanese macaque’, this monkey species is known to descend around homes in mountainous areas, abducting baby animals and in some cases dangerous.
