Macron and Zelenskiy met in Paris

According to the joint written statement made by the Elysee Palace regarding the meeting of Macron and Zelenskiy in Paris, which lasted for about 3 hours, the two leaders condemned the Ukraine-Russia war.

It was emphasized that Russia should immediately and unconditionally withdraw its military forces from the territory of Ukraine. France and Ukraine urged Russia to withdraw from the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

The statement underlined that France is committed to Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Pointing out that the Paris administration will continue its political, financial, humanitarian and military support to Ukraine as long as necessary, the statement said that France will train many battalions in the coming weeks and equip them with dozens of armored vehicles and light tanks, including the AMX 10-RC type light combat tanks. It was also informed that there will be tanks.

It was also noted in the statement that the Paris administration focused its efforts on “supporting Ukraine’s air defense capabilities”.

Referring to the call for Ukraine and France to take new sanctions against Russia, according to the statement, France emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s efforts to continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
