Meduro awarded to the team participating in search and rescue efforts in Turkey

According to the statement made on the Twitter account of the Turkish Embassy in Caracas, a medal presentation ceremony was held for the Simon Bolivar Humanitarian Task Force team, which carried out search and rescue operations in Turkey after the 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes, the epicenter of which was the Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş.

At the ceremony, attended by Turkey’s Ambassador to Caracas, Naci Aydan Karamanoğlu, Maduro awarded Francisco de Miranda to the team members.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Caracas, Karamanoğlu, stated that Venezuelan authorities conveyed messages of condolence and solidarity right after the first earthquake and stated that they were ready to help.

In this context, Ambassador Karamanoğlu stated that the search and rescue team, consisting of 27 personnel and 3 dogs, arrived in Gaziantep on February 9 and returned to their country on February 17 after participating in the work in Adıyaman.

Karamanoğlu said, “At the ceremony, in which I also attended, President Nicolas Maduro presented each of its members with the Order of Francisco de Miranda. We sincerely thank the Simon Bolivar search and rescue team for all their efforts.” He thanked the Venezuelan authorities and people.
