Michel made a statement on his Twitter account regarding his meeting with President Erdoğan before the NATO Summit held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
Stating that they had a “good meeting” with President Erdogan, Michel said, “We talked about the opportunities ahead in order to bring EU-Turkey cooperation back to the fore and to revive our relations.”
Michel noted that the EU Council, formed by the leaders of the EU countries, asked the EU Commission and the EU High Representative for Foreign Relations and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, to prepare a strategic and forward-looking report.
