Plateau State Police Spokesperson Alabo Alfred stated that 87 people were killed and 39 injured in the attacks on the villages of Fungzai and Kubwat on May 15.
Noting that the injured were being treated in hospitals in different parts of the province, Alfred stated that 7 people were caught in connection with the attack.
Alfred stated that the arrested persons will be brought to court after the completion of the necessary investigation.
Armed attacks were carried out on the villages of Fungzai and Kubwat in the Plateau province on 15 May at night.
Joseph Gwankat, President of the Mwaghavul Development Association, announced that 125 people lost their lives in the attacks.
In the news in the national press, it was claimed that about 20,000 people left their homes and took shelter in churches, schools and open spaces.
After the attacks, a 24-hour curfew was declared in the state to prevent violence.
