The flames, which could not be extinguished for days due to strong winds and spread over a wide area, cannot be intervened this time due to dense smoke.
Speaking to Greek State Television ERT, Fire Brigade Press Spokesperson Yannis Artopios stated that fires continue in the forest area near Demirören (Sıdıro) and Yanören (Yannuli) villages, but the settlements are not in danger.
Artopios pointed out that there is no wind blowing, and therefore there is heavy smoke in the region.
The low visibility caused by the dense smoke does not allow firefighting planes and helicopters to fly.
According to the forecasts of the Greek Meteorological Service, no precipitation is expected until Tuesday.
On Sunday and Monday, it is predicted that very strong winds will prevail in the region.
