Palestinian detainees in Israeli prison take 2 prison police hostage

Nearly 800 Palestinian prisoners are held at Megiddo Prison, located near Haifa.


Adnan was on hunger strike for 87 days

Palestinian Hıdır Adnan has been on a hunger strike for 87 days, which he started against Israel’s “administrative detention” in prison without trial.

Palestinian resistance groups announced that 44-year-old Adnan passed away yesterday morning.

While human rights organizations declared that Adnan was “at risk of certain death” if he was not transferred from prison to the hospital due to his deteriorating health condition, Israeli authorities had denied this.

Adnan, who was repeatedly subjected to arbitrary arrests by Israel, went on a hunger strike for 25 days in 2004, 66 days in 2012, 56 days in 2015, 58 days in 2018 and 25 days in 2021.
