The priest, who teaches at the Faculty of Theology in Rijeka, confessed to sexually abusing 13 boys aged 6 to 13, Catholic Church Archbishop Mate Uzinic said in a statement.
Stating that M.S had been accused of sexual abuse before, Uzinic said, “He confessed his crime. His church duties were terminated. He was forbidden to teach at the faculty.” said.
Noting that M.S admitted to being involved in numerous abuses between 1987-1994, Uzinic said, “He has no ties to the church in Rijeka.” used the phrases.
Meanwhile, M.S’s confession letter was featured in the local media.
The letter reads, “I asked our Holy Father to release me from my duty because of the sins I committed in my youth. The sins I committed did not suit my duty. I do not blame others for my sins. I am responsible for everything. I am also very sorry for the children I have hurt.
