In a statement made by the Berlin Police, it was reported that a passerby noticed that a swastika was drawn with paint on the monument erected for Burak Bektaş and informed the police.
In the statement, it was noted that the police launched an investigation into the incident.
Burak Bektaş, 22, was shot dead with a gun in Neukölln district 11 years ago while chatting with his friends, and two of his friends were seriously injured.
“No traces were found that could point to the perpetrator”
Eyewitnesses stated that the middle-aged, white-skinned assailant quietly fled the scene after shooting at the youth.
Investigating the attack, where the perpetrator has not yet been found, the German police announced that after the murder, there was no trace that could point to the perpetrator.
A monument was erected for Burak Bektaş in the park at the intersection of Rudower Strasse and Möwenweg streets, near the place where he was killed on April 8, 2018.
