In the filing of the lawsuit, the plaintiff’s legal team alleges that DoNotPay’s designation of itself as “the world’s first robot lawyer” is false and unlawful.
It also claims that the company’s self-billing and exaggerated promises make its customers believe they are receiving high-quality legal advice and documentation that they did not.
“Unfortunately for its customers, DoNotPay is not actually a robot, a lawyer, or a law firm. DoNotPay has no law degree, is not banned in any jurisdiction, and is not supervised by any lawyers”
DoNotPay is a company that has made a name for itself online, mostly by creating template-based documents that claim to help customers avoid parking tickets, charge cable companies, and manage other low-grade legal and consumer scams.
