Before the iftar, Gualtieri came to the Grand Mosque and received information about the activities of their center from Naim Nasrollah, Chairman of the Italian Islamic Cultural Center, Secretary General Abdullah Redouane and Imam Nader Akkad, the Imam of the Great Mosque.
Gualtieri, who toured the library and conference hall of the mosque, later accompanied the Muslims who broke their fast with dates and water with the evening call to prayer when he came to the great hall.
After the evening prayer of the congregation, iftar was started.
In his speech here, Nasrollah expressed his pleasure to host President Gualtieri for their iftar.
Gualtieri greeted the Muslims by saying “Peace be upon him” and said, “I was very excited to be here with you, to witness your prayers and faith, in this important moment like iftar tonight.” said.
Expressing that they are proud to have the Great Mosque of Rome, which he describes as an “extraordinary monument”, Gualtieri also emphasized that the Muslim community in their city made significant contributions to the socio-cultural and economic life of Rome.
