Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic evaluated the agenda at the plenary meeting of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), which he led, held at the MTS Arena in the capital Belgrade.
Announcing that he will go on a tour of Serbia, Vucic said, “I plan to go to 25 regions by the end of the year. I hope I can go to the north of Kosovo as well. I am extremely happy to meet and talk to the citizens as the President.” said.
Pointing out that he will go to places where no president has taken a step since 1926, Vucic stated that he plans to visit municipalities next year.
Evaluating the “People’s Movement for the State”, which is described as a new political formation to be established by Vucic, in the local press recently, President Vucic said:
“This movement will gather not only the SNS or other political parties, but also everyone who is not involved in politics but who thinks about Serbia’s interests. This is important because we will exist in both poles of the political scene, which are affected by different external factors. We will only think about Serbia.”
Vucic pointed out that although SNS is “the best party”, it has restrictions on recruiting new members, and that there is a need for important and valuable names from the “other” side to overcome difficult times.
Announcing that he will convene the party assembly on May 27, Vucic noted that the details of the establishment of the “People’s Movement for the State” will also be discussed in the party assembly.
Vucic argued that new pressures would come from Kosovo, claiming that the Pristina administration wanted to set the stage for Serbia’s confrontation with NATO.
