In the latest report published by Cancer Research UK, it was reported that skin cancer cases in all age groups in the country reached 17,500 per year, the highest level since records began to be kept.
The report pointed out that the impact of the boom in cheap holiday packages in the 1960s may be linked to record-breaking skin cancer cases in the UK.
The report pointed out that the increase was especially evident in people over the age of 55, and underlined that the cases have increased by 195 percent since the 1990s.
On the other hand, in the report, it was estimated that the cases could increase by about 50 percent in all age groups in the coming years and may reach 26,500 per year by 2040.
However, researchers note that despite this increase, deaths from the disease have decreased thanks to early diagnosis and treatments.
