South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that an agreement was reached on cooperation in various fields between the two countries at the 43rd ASEAN Summit held in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta.
In the statement made by the Ministry, it was reported that 14 memorandums of understanding and 2 contracts were signed in order to increase bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially in nuclear energy production and some important mines.
Yoon meets with prime ministers of China and Cambodia
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Chinese Premier Li Chiang in Jakarta.
In the statement made by the Presidential Office, it was stated that Yoon and Hun Manet met on the margins of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and discussed bilateral relations.
In the statement, it was stated that the two leaders decided to further expand bilateral trade through the free trade agreement that entered into force last year.
It was stated in the statement that the trade between the two countries reached approximately 1 billion dollars last year thanks to the trade and customs agreements, and that Yoon and Hun Manet agreed on the active use of these agreements.
