According to the CSA Institute’s research covering September 29 – November 15, state aid has risen to second place after housing aid, surpassing food, water and energy bill aid among “the most applied areas”.
While 2/3 of 1223 people who participated in the survey stated that they considered food aid as “vital”, it was determined that more than 1/3 of those who benefited from this support started to receive aid within the last 6 months.
The rate of those receiving assistance once or twice a week increased by 6 points compared to 2020, reaching 60 percent.
While more than 80 percent of those who received aid stated that they were not working, it was recorded that 2.4 million people received food aid at the end of 2022, which is 3 times what it was 10 years ago.
