According to Xinhua’s report, the Shincou-15 space capsule carrying taikonauts Fey Cunlong, Ding Chingming and Cang Lu landed at the Donfing field in the Gobi Desert in the morning.
It was announced that the taikonauts who spent 180 days in space were in good health.
The Shincou-15 space shuttle was launched on November 29, 2022, and the team reached the station on November 30, 2022 and started its mission.
The fourth taikonaut group, which was sent to the space station, carried out preparations for the future experiments with the installation of the main skeleton of the space station, for 6 months, and carried out four spacewalks for this.
The taikonauts handed over the task to the new taikonaut team composed of Cing Haypıng, Cu Yangcu and Gui Hayçao, who were sent to the station on 30 May with the Shincou-16 shuttle.
China’s plan to build a space station
China is working to establish its own space station, as the United States forbids cooperation in space exploration and prevents its participation in the International Space Station (ISS) program.
The planned “Tiengong” (sky palace) station, which is planned to consist of a core module, two laboratory modules and a space telescope, will be approximately the same size as Russia’s now defunct Mir Space Station when completed.
The main part of the station is the core module called “Tienhi” (heavenly harmony) on April 29, 2021, the first laboratory module “Vintien” (seeking the heavens) on July 24, 2022, and the second laboratory module “Mingtien” (dreaming the heavens) on 31 It was launched in October 2022.
With the addition of laboratory modules to the core module, the “T” shaped mainframe of the station was completed, and the “implementation and development phase” began after the installation phase.
The space telescope called “Shuntien” (to travel the skies) is also planned to be added to the station as a separate module.
“Shincou” (sacred ship) shuttles transport personnel and “Tiencou” (skyship) supplies to the station, where a 3-person taikonaut team rotates.
