According to the news of The New York Times, there were new developments in the investigation carried out after the train accident in India.
The CBI, which is conducting the investigation, announced that 3 railway workers were detained on charges of “endangering the safety of passengers”, “reckless killing” and “cloaking the evidence”.
Stating that these people work as engineers and technicians, CBI stated that the investigation continues.
On Friday, June 2, 293 people were killed and more than 1000 were injured in the accident involving two passengers and a freight train near the Bahanaga Bazar Train Station in the Balasore region of Orissa.
In the investigation initiated by the railway authorities, it was stated that “signal error” may have caused the accident, according to the first determinations.
Although the transit signal was given for the Coromandel Express and then the signal was cut off, the train entering the main line collided with the freight train.
