Amr al-Hamami was appointed as the Egyptian Embassy in Ankara.
The decree regarding the appointment was published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Sisi.
Hamami was working as a charge d’affaires in Ankara before the diplomatic relations between the two countries were raised to the embassy level.
With the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Salih Mutlu Şen was appointed as Turkey’s Ambassador to Cairo.
Who is al-Hamami?
Amr al-Hamami, who has been charge d’affaires at the Egyptian Embassy in Ankara since 2019, served as legal counsel for the United Nations Egypt Mission in New York from 2011 to 2015.
Hamami also served as consul at the Egyptian embassies in Niger, Denmark and Bulgaria.
